FINDINGS OF FACT
1. SEIU Healthcare 1199NW filed with the Public Employment Relations Commission a petition concerning representation of the Health Care Specialists, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners – Lead at the University of Washington. The petition was timely filed and accompanied by a showing of interest administratively determined by the Commission to be sufficient. No other organization is known to claim to represent the employees involved.
2. The existing bargaining unit represented by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW is described as:
All full-time and regular part-time employees in the Registered Nurse 1 – Research and Registered Nurse 2 – Research job classes, and the Registered Nurses at Hall Health Center and Environmental Health and Safety, excluding supervisors, confidential employees, temporary employees, and employees in other bargaining units.
3. All proceedings were conducted under the supervision of the Commission in a manner designed to afford the affected employees a free choice in the selection of whether they wished to be represented by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW in its existing bargaining unit. A confidential cross-check of employer and union documents has been conducted by Commission staff and a tally of the results previously furnished to the parties is attached hereto, and no meritorious objections have been filed with respect to these proceedings.
4. The existing bargaining unit represented by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW shall be modified to include the Health Care Specialists, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners – Lead for a bargaining unit described as:
All full-time and regular part-time employees in the Health Care Specialist, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner – Lead, Registered Nurse 1 – Research, and Registered Nurse 2 – Research job classes and the Registered Nurses at Hall Health Center and Environmental Health and Safety, excluding supervisors, confidential employees, temporary employees, and employees in other bargaining units.
CONCLUSIONS OF LAW
1. The unit described in Finding of Fact 4 is an appropriate unit for the purpose of collective bargaining within the meaning of RCW 41.80.070.
2. All conditions precedent to a certification have been met.
CERTIFICATION
The Health Care Specialists, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners – Lead at the University of Washington have chosen

as their representative for the purpose of collective bargaining with their employer.
