On November 1, 2024, Teamsters Local 117 filed a petition with the Public Employment Relations Commission, seeking to change representation. The petitioned-for employees are already represented by Kent Police Officers Association as the exclusive bargaining representative of employees at the City of Kent. The bargaining unit is described as:

City of Kent, Decision 11374 (PECB, 2012).
