Involving certain employees of:

CASE 135987-E-22

DECISION 13601 - PECB

ORDER WITHDRAWING
CERTIFICATION AND
CLOSING CASE

James David, Attorney/General Counsel, for the Pacific County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild/Washington Fraternal Order of Police.

Heather Slusher, Business Agent, for Teamsters Local 252.

Robin Souvenir, Sheriff, for Pacific County.

On October 24, 2022, the Pacific County Deputy Sheriff’s Guild/Washington Fraternal Order of Police filed a petition with the Public Employment Relations Commission, seeking to decertify Teamsters Local 252 as the exclusive bargaining representative of employees at Pacific County. The Public Employment Relations Commission did not certify the bargaining unit, has not clarified the bargaining unit, and it appears the bargaining unit was established through voluntary recognition. Based on the parties’ current collective bargaining agreement, the bargaining unit is described as:

All full-time and regular part-time nonsupervisory commissioned deputy sheriffs employed by the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office, excluding the Sheriff, supervisory employees, nonuniformed employees, confidential employees, and all other employees.

On November 10, 2022, the Teamsters Local 252 filed a written disclaimer of all representation rights concerning the bargaining unit, effective immediately. Based upon Teamsters Local 252’s disclaimer, further decertification proceedings are not necessary.

ORDER

Teamsters Local 252’s request is granted. Teamsters Local 252 no longer represents the bargaining unit, and the case is closed.

ISSUED at Olympia, Washington, this  1st  day of December, 2022.
