Allan Ekberg, Mayor, for the City of Tukwila.

On October 21, 2021, Teamsters Local 117 filed a petition with the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC), seeking to change representation. The Fraternal Order of Police, Green River Valley Lodge 27 (Tukwila Police Commanders) is the exclusive bargaining representative of the petitioned-for employees at the City of Tukwila. The bargaining unit is described as:

All full-time and regular part-time Police Commanders of the City of Tukwila Police Department, excluding confidential employees and all other employees.

On November 22, 2021, the Fraternal Order of Police, Green River Valley Lodge 27 (Tukwila Police Commanders) filed a written disclaimer of all representation rights concerning the bargaining unit, effective immediately. Based upon Fraternal Order of Police, Green River Valley Lodge 27’s (Tukwila Police Commanders) disclaimer, further decertification proceedings are not necessary.

ORDER

Fraternal Order of Police, Green River Valley Lodge 27’s (Tukwila Police Commanders) request is granted. The certification issued in City of Tukwila, Decision 12637 (PECB, 2016) is withdrawn, Fraternal Order of Police, Green River Valley Lodge 27 (Tukwila Police Commanders) no longer represents the bargaining unit, and the case is closed.
