Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, Decision 13266-A (PECB, 2021)

STATE OF WASHINGTON

BEFORE THE PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS COMMISSION

In the matter of the petition of:

WASHINGTON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Involving certain employees of:

SUMNER-BONNEY Lake school district

CASE 132995-E-20

DECISION 13266-A - PECB

FINAL CERTIFICATION

Michael Gawley, Attorney at Law, for the Washington Education Association.

Curtis M. Leonard, Attorney at Law, Pacifica Law Group, for the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.

On August 26, 2020, the Washington Education Association filed a petition to represent certain employees of the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. After an investigation, the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) determined that an election could be conducted and reserved the eligibility challenges for a subsequent determination. The tally indicated that the Washington Education Association was entitled to certification and the eligibility issues did not affect the outcome of the election. PERC issued an interim certification in Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, Decision 13266 (PECB, 2020) and conducted further proceedings to resolve the eligibility challenges.

Prior to a ruling, the parties resolved their differences. PERC has reviewed the parties’ resolution and determined that the resulting bargaining unit is appropriate under the statute. No further proceedings are necessary.

ORDER

1.                  The interim certification will stand as the final certification in this representation proceeding for the bargaining unit described as follows:

All full-time and regular part-time administrative, technical and security professionals employed by the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, excluding supervisors, confidential employees, and all other employees.

2.                  The above-captioned matter is CLOSED.

ISSUED at Olympia, Washington, this  9th  day of February, 2021.
