On April 20, 1995, this agency certified the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 1352 (union) as the exclusive bargaining representative of non-commissioned employees of the City of Auburn.  City of Auburn, Decision 5073 (PECB, 1995).  In January 2007 the City of Auburn’s fire department merged with the City of Pacific’s fire department to create the Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA).  The VRFA provides fire services to the communities of Algona, Auburn, and Pacific. 

 

The non-commissioned bargaining unit certified in City of Auburn, Decision 5073, currently includes employees in the Administrative Assistant and Public Information and Education Officer job classes.  This bargaining unit is known as the Administrative Support and Educators bargaining unit.  On May 25, 2016, the union filed a written disclaimer of all representation rights concerning the Administrative Support and Educators bargaining unit, effective immediately.

The certification issued by the Public Employment Relations Commission in this case is withdrawn.
